Waiheke (Matiatia Wharf) to Boho Hill Boutique Accommodation, 9 Palm Road, Palm Beach

TAXI
There are always taxis waiting at Matiatia Wharf but if you want to be certain, prebook one before you get on the ferry. You can also call a couple of different companies to compare prices. Most companies are happy to provide a ‘meet and greet’ (they’ll be waiting for you at the wharf with a board with your name on it) for when you arrive on Waiheke, so be sure to make it clear to the operator if this is the service you want.
We recommend Wai Cabs 0800 924 222 or Easy Transport Waiheke +64 22 612 6760, but there are other reputable companies on the island you can go with too.
Travel time 10-15 minutes. The cost varies, depending on whether it’s a weekend or weekday, and regardless of how many passengers. Confirm the price with the Driver before climbing into the vehicle, if this matters to you.
Drivers accept cash, eftpos or credit card (there’s a small surcharge for cc) – check this when you book.

VEHICLE OR SCOOTER HIRE:
Vehicle hire companies on the island offer a wide range of vehicles to suit every budget for getting around. We recommend Wheels on Waiheke. Their website is here or call Wayne on 027 2467 883. Most vehicle hire companies will arrange to meet you at the wharf, or leave a car there for you to collect.

BUS SERVICE
Look for the Rocky Bay via PALM BEACH no. 502 bus at the end of the wharf, they meet every Fullers ferry.
Ask the driver to drop you off at the bottom of Hill Road & Te Toki Road crossroads.
Bus travel time approx 30 minutes. Costs approx NZ$3.50 (cash), $2 with a hop card per person.
If arriving by bus, cross over to the other side and walk down Palm Road. Not far from where you get off, on your right, you’ll see the wooden sign: No. 9 Palm Road, Palm Beach. Come down the path. We are less than 50 metres from the bus stop.

Getting Around the Island

BUS
These are plentiful, with stops for buses in both directions. There are 2 within a few metres of Boho Hill. Timetables and bus maps are available on the Fullers website.

TAXI
Taxis are plentiful but they get very busy during the summer months, so allow some extra time if you need to be somewhere at a particular time.

TOURS
There are lots of different tours at lots of different prices. Boho Hill offers a highly recommended bespoke private half day wine or sightseeing tour. Contact Michelle on 021 609 141.

VEHICLE OR SCOOTER HIRE
If you prefer not to bring your vehicle over but want the flexibility of having one (or scooter) on the island, even for part of your stay, this is a good way to go. Especially if you’re wanting to explore the Eastern end of the island, ie. Man O’ War, Passage Rock, Poderi Crisci & Awaroa (vehicle only, scooters are not permitted past Onetangi). Again, we recommend Wheels on Waiheke, website here or call Wayne on 027 2467 883. Most vehicle hire companies will arrange to meet you at the wharf, or leave a vehicle there for you to collect.
